Energy recovery in the pharmaceutical industry
To keep the number of dust particles in pharmaceutical clean rooms low, large volumes of air often need to be recirculated and filtered, but depending on the products recirculation is not always possible. Heat recovery systems are then a good solution, as the air is refreshed in an energy-friendly manner. The contaminated air is removed to the outside, but the energy remains saved and heats or cools a fresh outside air flow. Air Solutions Holland helps the pharmaceutical industry with the design and construction of these types of heat recovery solutions. Water streams also often contain a lot of residual heat. Air Solutions helps to think along with the pharmaceutical industry to use this waste heat in a useful way, making the entire process more efficient and saving energy and fossil fuel.
Air Solutions Holland has the following techniques in-house:
- Twin-coil systems
- Rotor type of recovery systems
- Air/air heat exchangers
- Water/water heat exchangers
Energy recovery systems are designed for a customer specific application, and are also often eligible for a subsidy scheme. This scheme aims to stimulate entrepreneurs with fiscal investment schemes to invest in sustainable energy and energy saving techniques. The Dutch government offers a tax advantage when purchasing energy-efficient equipment.
- Capacities from 50 to 5,000 kW
- Air volumes from 10,000 to 150,000 m³/h
Energy recovery in combination with a heat pump often makes the complete energy management even more interesting, especially when cold and hot energy are required in the pharmaceutical industry. The Air Solutions employees are therefore always ready to advise you, without any obligation, about which solution is most suitable for your situation.
