Hot & Cold Air
Meat Processing & Diary Industry

Hot and cool air for the meat processing and dairy industry

In the meat processing and dairy industry, food safety and hygiene often have a very high priority. During very sensitive production processes, such as meat cutting rooms or milk powder packaging areas, this high level of purity must also be guaranteed for the air treatment system. Air Solutions Holland supplies the meat processing and dairy industry with tailor-made food safe and hygienic solutions. With our air handling units we can carry out and/or combine any desired process step, for example:

- Filtration

- Cooling

- Heating

- Dehumidification

- Humidification

- Energy recovery

- Odour neutralisation

For the diverse and demanding requirements in the meat processing and dairy industry, Air Solutions therefore offers intelligent, but also certified solutions that not only ensure high reliability.  By integrating heat recovery systems into our cabinets, the entire system becomes highly energy efficient, minimising operating costs. Each industry brings new challenges, so by thinking about these at the design stage of our air handling solutions, your final factory certification will be easier to achieve. We have developed a special hygienic execution for the meat processing and dairy industry. These cabinets are carried out according to specific food safety guidelines (FDA or GMP).

Milk powder, breadcrumbs and starch are potentially explosive substances, should high concentrations of these substances enter the process air streams, we have air handling units in our delivery program which follow the ATEX guidelines. These units are supplied with an ATEX certificate. The meat industry also presents unique challenges, such as salts, wet rooms full of cleaning chemicals. These types of air handling units are equipped with chemically resistant frames, plating, heat exchangers and fans. Air Solutions Holland therefore makes a customer specific plan for the meat processing and dairy industry to eventually heat and/or cool the air in the best way, this can be done directly with natural gas, freon, air or water, but also indirect heating is possible.

Our air handling units can be constructed horizontally or vertically, with air volumes varying from 2,000 to 200,000 m3/h depending on the application. Depending on this application, industry, desired execution and available space, we design the most optimal/efficient installation. It is not without reason that we can proudly state that we can offer a suitable solution for every specific customer requirement in the meat processing and dairy industry.

The choice of materials for the various components is also often an issue in this industry. The cladding on the inside as well as on the outside of the air handling unit can be executed in:

- Galvanized steel

- Steel coated on desired RAL colour

- Aluminium

- Stainless steel - AISI 304

- Stainless steel - AISI 316

Our air handling units are designed and built according to the latest ErP guidelines, providing the most energy friendly solution available. Units can be supplied in different material choices, but also different insulation thicknesses, even completely thermal bridge free are among the options.

By designing the air handling units in this way as customer specific as possible, many Air Solutions air handling units qualify for the EIA subsidy scheme of the Dutch government. This scheme aims to stimulate entrepreneurs with fiscal investment schemes to invest in sustainable energy and energy saving techniques. The Energy Investment Allowance (EIA) offers an advantage when purchasing energy-efficient equipment. All investments that qualify for a tax benefit are on the Energy List that the government publishes annually. For more information, please contact one of our advisors.
