Clean air in the energy and biomass industry

Producing energy from biomass is a very sustainable solution and therefore saves a lot of fossil fuel. All kinds of organic materials are burned (heat) or fermented (first biogas and then perhaps heat). However, this green production process creates quite a bit of harmful particulate dust which can be reduced to an acceptable level by means of source extraction and ventilation. With source extraction, gases, vapours, fine dust and aerosols can be removed as close to the source as possible. Air Solutions Holland has a wide range of source extraction solutions, for more information click here.

To finally purify the dust from the air, Air Solutions Holland has a number of filtration solutions in house. For example static filters but also compressed air cleaned cartridge filters or bag house filters are available. In this way the total dust concentration in the biomass plant is minimized and exhaust air volumes comply with all applicable emission standards.

In addition to dust, many unpleasant odour components are created during the fermentation of organic material in particular. Digestate (the remains from the fermentation tank) has a very characteristic pungent odour, also ammonia and hydrogen sulphide are often released. In order to neutralize these kinds of annoying emission problems Air Solutions Holland has odour treatment air scrubbers in its delivery program. For more information click on the buttons below.
